About ReadyLuck

About READYLUCK

We are a collective of Wedding Photographers whose passions lie in creative, articulate storytelling told through a diversity of talents.

To be in the right place at the right time involves preparation and an acute awareness of light, form, and detail.

It also requires an agreement of chance, of unknown paths crossing, a coming together.

Being invited into your life to document the immensity of this miracle is a privilege that’s not lost on us.

Q&A

What does "READYLUCK" mean?

The name comes from the old expression, “luck is being ready.”
In love, it’s about being present enough to recognize the right person when they happen to come along, and brave enough to meet the moment when it arrives. In photography, it’s about that same readiness — being attuned, cameras dialed, and ready to capture the fleeting beauty of a glance, a touch, a celebration unfolding in real time. In the end, its simply a way of living that keeps us open to life’s most meaningful moments.

How would you describe your style of photography?

We approach weddings with an editorial sensibility, blending photojournalism, environmental portraiture, and fashion-inspired details into a sophisticated & layered story of your day. Together, the images form a portrait of your family and friends—past, present, and future—spoken through the language of photography. We also love shooting film, and bring the same standards to our digital editing, crafting clean color and timeless black-and-white images designed to outlast passing trends.

How do I decide on which one of you to commission?

Browse our profile pages & galleries, then shoot us a note to set up a meeting — coffee in person, Zoom, FaceTime, whatever works best. You’ll know pretty quickly who feels right… just make sure they’re available on your date first!

Where has Readyluck been published?

Our photos and projects have appeared in print and online at The New York Times, Martha Stewart Weddings, Over The Moon, The Knot, BRIDES Magazine, Refinery29, Time Out Magazine, Party Slate, Greenpointers, United With Love, Carats & Cake, Harper's Baazar, Style Me Pretty, H&H weddings, Pure Wow, Brooklyn Bride, and many others. Our photographers have received numerous awards including being named one of "The Best Photographers in America" by BRIDES magazine, "Best of the Best" by Junebug magazine, and Rangefinder Magazine "30 Rising Stars".

How does your pricing work?

We approach wedding photography pricing a bit differently. Instead of multi-tiered packages, we include everything you need up front. Key inclusions are fully edited, high-resolution images (with no additional fees), plus a second photographer for comprehensive coverage. You’ll be free to share your photos as you like, and we’ll help guide you toward products that best showcase your images. Every wedding is unique, and we always customize our coverage to fit the scope of your event—please reach out for rates and availability specific to your date and location.

Do you shoot film?

Yes! We love shooting film and are always happy to include it. Film brings a distinctive texture and depth — think of it as the vinyl record version of your wedding photos: warm, beautifully imperfect, and timeless. We'd be glad to discuss what kind of film coverage might work best for your day.

What other photography work do you do?

We’re a team with diverse passions connected by the same restless curiosity. We are adventurers at heart, fueled by anything outside the familiar including history, design, good food, music, but—most of all—our families. We’ve all lived abroad at some point, and those experiences sneak into the way we see and photograph the world. Outside of weddings, our editorial work has shown up everywhere from The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and plenty of obscure online publications. We've shown our work in galleries, cozy cafés, and even a teeny-tiny museum exhibit that we still brag about.

Do you work with a second photographer or an assistant?

Yes, almost always—and occasionally teams—depending on the scope of your event. A second photographer lets us capture complementary angles and be in multiple places at once for a fuller story. We generally recommend one for gatherings over 60–70 guests. That said, we believe in a 'less is more' philosophy and strive to stay unobtrusive. We'll work with you to tailor the right coverage for your day.

How do I reserve my date and how does payment work?

We ask for a 50% deposit, payable by e-check or credit card, to reserve your date with your chosen photographer. We can also schedule automated payments if that works best for you. The remaining 50% is due by e-check, Zelle, or credit card 30 days prior to the date of your wedding.

When will we receive our photos?

You’ll get a sneak peek within a week, and your full collection within 10 weeks. All images are edited in our clean, timeless style, delivered as high-resolution, un-watermarked files with personal reprint rights. Most couples receive 700–1,000+ photographs.

We love to travel

We're based in NYC and the Hudson Valley, but we've worked in places as distant as Chennai, Bangkok, Italy, France, Spain, The Caribbean, Mexico, and from Coast to Coast of this beautiful wild country of ours. Travel is included for most events and we can custom quote for the cost of travel to wherever your pronouncements of love bring you.
